Mahanoy City is located in the heart of the Anthracite coal region of Pennsylvania, We are a small community covering only approx. ½ sq mile with a population of approx. 4600 people. Our Police Department currently consists of 9 officers, 3 full time and 6 part time, which provide round the clock police protection. The greatest attribute of our officers are their versatility, handling everything from everyday traffic enforcement to conducting complex criminal investigations. Many of our officers are trained in fire and EMS which allow us to respond to a multitude of calls and we were the first defibrillator equipped police department in the County. Our website is intended to provide our residents with information relating to our ordinances, safety information, victim information, and a way to contact us to submit tips or vacation requests. Please note that all calls for service will need to be made by phone by either calling 9-1-1 for emergencies or 570-773-2310 for non-emergencies.
